It didn't start as a business plan. It started as a longing for community: a place to gather, to create, and to share the joy of fiber arts with others.
Hi, I'm Nikki! My grandmother taught me to crochet in middle school, and I've been knitting, crocheting, and embroidering ever since. Fiber Collective grew out of that lifelong love for the craft and a simple belief:
Creativity should be accessible to everyone, and every maker deserves a place where they feel supported, seen, and welcome.
I'm building Fiber Collective to feel like a cozy, creative home. From accessible shelving and communal seating to workshops, shelf rentals, and quiet corners to craft, every detail is designed to foster connection and creativity. Whether you're picking up your first pair of needles or have been making for decades, this space is for you.
Over the years I've built relationships with skilled local makers and instructors who share that vision. Those relationships shape everything at Fiber Collective, from the workshops we offer at every skill level to the supplies we keep on the shelves. Their hands-on knowledge helps ensure you'll always find what you need, whether you're grabbing your first skein or hunting down something specific for a project you've been dreaming about.
I started Fiber Collective through pop-up events in 2025 to grow roots in Richmond, Virginia and the response has made one thing clear: this space is needed and wanted. A permanent location in RVA is the goal, and I can't wait to have a place where you can always find us.
